This is exactly true. Shopping for a Mac is so easy and pleasurable compared to a PC. Desktop or Laptop? Want one that is good for most everyone or want one that is a workhorse? There is no low end option. Just one that meets the needs of most people, and one that is designed to be more powerful for people who need it.

I would also argue that the problems one encounters with a Mac are way fewer and further between than their PC brothers. Viruses? Yea ... one successful virus on Mac compared to tens of thousands on PCs.

If you're wading through 30,000,000 results to your search then you're doing it wrong. You should be "wading" through no more than 1 or 2 for 99% of searches.

Yea I would think you should be somewhere in the ~100ms range - and that's just barely adequate. To your ISPs server you should be getting under or around 60. I think for online gaming they say you should be under 80 but I could be wrong on that.

It seems like it's yearly now that Sony comes out with some apology or explanation about why they suck along promises to do better. They never do. They already apologized for having crappy software like six years ago.

I'm interested in what Google will allow on their network. As I understand it, they want to see what creative things people will do with gigabit connections in their homes. Does that mean Google will allow people to run their own webservers, etc? I'm also interested in learning some of the things that Google *thinks* people might do with such speedy connections.

My state has a fiber optic network but most cities have banned it because Comcast successfully lobbied against it as "unfair competition." I guess it takes someone as big as Google to overcome that sort of thing.
