"UK geneticist Steve Jones gave a presentation entitled Human Evolution Is Over. He asserts that human beings have stopped evolving because modern social customs have lowered the age at which human males have offspring, which results in fewer of the mutations necessary to drive evolutionary change. Apparently the fate of our species now depends upon older guys hooking up with younger woman. I, for one, welcome this development."

"OSWeekly.com has published a review of Beryl, a very cool looking UI for Linux. Matt Hartley writes, "This release, in my opinion, was the most over-hyped and bug-filled to date. You will have to really hit Technorati to see more of what I'm talking about, but Feisty is as buggy as the beta I tested a short time ago. After completely tossing into the wilds of the ubber-buggy "network-manager," anything running with Edgy supported RT2500 driver shows up, but it will not connect without a special script. Those of you who are on Feisty and need help with your RT2500 cards are welcome to e-mail me for the bash script."

What else is there to say? Apparently, Sun has decided to celebrate it's 25th Anniversary by cutting prices on a selection of fun gear. In particular, the T2000 can be had for a price that mere mortals can afford, and who doesn't want to play with an 8-core, 32-hardware-thread system? (If that really doesn't interest you, don't embarass yourself by saying so.)

The Register reports an almost unbeliveable security feature in Vista: Program Names govern admin rights in Vista.
It seems that the neame of the executable is what triggers the need of admin rights.
