I just looked it up. As of data from three days ago, 68% of the UK is vaccinated.
That's 68% of the entire population, including children under the age of 12 who are not currently being offered a vaccination.
Scotland has vaccinated 90% of those aged 12 and over with at least one dose, while Wales has reached 88%, England 86% and Northern Ireland 83%.
Second doses are also being rolled out, with all nations reaching about 80% of over-12s so far.
The contactless payment limit for a physical bank card is UKP 45 in the UK, but limits with an authorised phone app (phone unlocked) may be larger (or unlimited).
The niggle is the contactless limit for a locked phone. Arguably it shouldn't be possible to pay at all, or the limit should be the same as a physical card.
Google Pay says "You can make secure contactless purchases above the UKP 45 limit by just unlocking your phone", while Apple says "You may not be able to use Apple Pay for purchases over GBP 45."
But it evidently is possible to use a locked phone for 'express transit' related transactions, and the article suggests the corresponding Visa limit on iPhone is the unlocked limit, which doesn't seem like a great idea.
