Nope, all of those are horrible too. I have not actually put a lot of thought into what I would like a relational query language to look like. Now that I'm thinking about it, though, I'd like to give the problem some consideration.

I like relational dbs, but SQL is kind of a crap language to access them. The default join is a Cartesian which is almost never what you want. The defaults for UPDATE and DELETE are to affect every row in the table. Yes, transactions prevent data loss here, but transactions aren't there to save us from crappy syntax.

The problem with that is that the food itself is usually the smallest expense for a restaurant. Payroll, location, and utilities are far more expensive for them. Making a portion 25% smaller saves them almost nothing, but loses them in comparison to other restaurants that appear to be "more generous". It's perverse, but the huge portions served in most places is a result of this.

Do you really "need" more? Are you not getting sufficient hydration and calories to sustain life? If not, you should probably spend the time and personal resources you spent responding to me and instead go for a walk and scavenge some discarded recyclables to sell. Few highly paid people in STEM fields really understand what people "need".

If you're not a subsistence farmer or a hunter/gatherer, this statement means almost nothing coming from you. If you are, well, good on ya, mate. I'm interested in how you get internet, though, because I' d like to be more like you!
