Someone with good English and Wikipedia/Wikiquote skills should put that rule in a right place since it stood the test of time.
Perhaps formal article? Godwin 's law is there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
How many of such ugly hacks are running in Windows GDI without people noticing them.
As a foreigner with English as a second (bad) language, I understood the story perfectly.
Just like in Japan nobody understood my Australian friend but my English.

There should be an official torrent of VLC just like GIMP, Libreoffice etc. I prefer torrents since they are faster, reliable and also opportunity to show finger to governments/companies having such ideas. VLC would easily have 20-30K seeders.
Good luck to this initiative. Also a good moment to reflect on how the world works. Your good intentions are not enough to run a viable enterprise in a competitive market.
It is also re-inventing the wheel. GNU has a great/usable product offering and they sure have same sense of freedom as Jimmy Wales.

There is kinda popular Mastodon https://mastodon.social/about
Of course, even when you invade another country and the entire planet boycotts you, you still try to keep up with Facebook&Instagram. I mean that is what Russians do. Installing VPN/Tor etc. Heard the penguins rejecting cheaper fish?
Every dissident in the World especially Turkish and other Mid Easterners dodged a bullet. This guy has a very interesting taste in friends. Especially ones with huge lithium reserves.
I watch my open source, non gigantic corp backed software under Windows switching from Qt 5 to Qt 6 one by one with their limited manpower. Yes besides being completely free&opensource software working great under Linux/Wayland, they do run fine under Windows too.
What if remaining developers say "this is it, enough is enough" when GTK5 ships as another absurdly backwards incompatible manner? I am just a user of digikam/qbittorrent/VLC etc. and I am sure they see it better than me.
I actually like some Gnome ideas and I keep seeing they are being implemented in another operating systems. I like their clean code but man the developers are annoying.
When willl GIMP implement GTK5? Firefox? Can we blame them?
We have to use Telegram in another country because Russians won't use anything else.
Even being invaded by Russia don't stop
They will keep on using it even with ads.
I believe it is work of Krita team themselves to generate income for the project.
They happily got their 30% cut from stolen intellectual property until today. This happens since Windows 8. Not just that, non technical people got robbed too.
There is nothing stopping you from buying support services from Ubuntu or their partners. I believe a lot of professionals and institutions do that already. Or donate $50 to VLC if you like.
If you visit dissident websites/ do dissident things on the Web, use Tor. Trust me, you may remember this comment in prison or hospital bed if you do otherwise. It is a bit slow but totally bearable with news sites/twitter etc.
Speaking of Twitter, Russia or Ukraine doesn't have a lot of Lithium right?
Use Facebook onion address if you have to and NEVER enable software 2FA especially with a SMS backup option (Facebook does)
3rd party company they all outsourced the 2FA by SMS was playing dirty games with government and let me remind you oppressive governments have root access in their GSM networks including receiving any SMS. I know reporters getting hacked because of this and all their inbox leeched.
They with such CVs and credentials know all of this, they ignore on purpose. Teach your fellow reporters to use independent mail, PGP and secure drop. You could be saving lives.
