Yes, that's a really good comparison. I've learned a lesson today, thanks.

No you didn't... so save your hollow thanks.

We'd need to bore down over 1,800 MILES.

..right.. and we need to physically visit stars to know there are planets around them or to start learning about their atmospheric composition! Now thank me again, "bro".

I think #1 is probably the closest to the truth. Conservatives view everything through the prism of winning and losing, Liberals tend to view things through the lens of right and wrong. If cheating means winning, then conservatives view that as a systemic success. Whereas a liberal sees cheating as a failure in the system. In essence, one side wants to win at all costs while the other is trying to build a better society and those two groups are a mutually exclusive set, so any resolution is going to be a messy one.

The "American" people who elected Trump don't even account for 20% of the population, hell you didn't even account for the majority of people who voted! The only reason that slug is sitting in the oval office is because of the slave states whined about being drowned out by the majority. He's a boil that is sitting on the face of America due to an antiquated system of whiners who felt their votes should count for more than everyone else's.
