It turns out you don't have to only tax people. It's actually possible to tax corporations.
And those corporations turn around and pass that tax on to people...
Paying $1 when you make $22 is not impossible.
And this is why you believe in Sanders. The GDP includes government spending. You are literally including credit card spending in your income number.
You have to have a basis for your lawsuit. There is nothing in the Constitution that bars a wealth tax.
The Constitution, last time I knew how to read, is a document enumerating the powers of the government. There is nothing in the Constitution that bars a wealth tax, but that doesn't matter. The real point is that there is nothing in the Constitution that gives the government the power to tax wealth. If you think everything not mentioned in the Constitution is up for grabs by the federal government, there's a little 10th Amendment for you... "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
