ShelfCount Description
ShelfCount provides a comprehensive inventory and COGS solution for independent restaurants at a flat rate of $50 per month, significantly less than the typical price of $250 or more. Utilizing the smartphones your staff already possesses, the counting process is as simple as opening a link, counting the items on the shelf, and finishing the task—no need for app installations or individual logins. By taking a picture of an invoice, ShelfCount automatically extracts the data, allowing you to approve any price changes before they affect your financials. Furthermore, recipes and prep recipes automatically adjust costs whenever there is a fluctuation in ingredient prices, while par levels can transform a completed count into a purchase order ready for vendors with just one click. Integration with Square or Clover (with Toast pending certification) ensures that sales data is synchronized seamlessly, enabling you to see where margins may be eroding by comparing theoretical and actual COGS. Designed by a restaurant owner, ShelfCount offers a single plan that accommodates unlimited team members and locations, operates on a month-to-month basis, and includes a 14-day free trial without the requirement of a credit card. This innovative approach allows restaurant owners to regain control over their inventory management and financial tracking effortlessly.

Excellent for small cafe Date: Aug 25 2026
Summary: Overall, super happy with ShelfCount as our new inventory management software. It shows us everything "the big guys" do like counts, theoretical usage vs actual usage, waste management, purchase orders and even a free scheduling tool for staff they just added. Happily recommend!
Positive: We've been using ShelfCount for about 1-2 months now and it's absolutely awesome. We switched from Marketman (at 250 bucks a month) and are now paying a fraction of that without the buggy app that Marketman uses.
Shelfcount essentially has the exact same functionality, but it improved on a lot of things like an auto-save for inventory counts (most of our staff have ADHD so they get easily distracted and this helps).Negative: Currently no Toast integration. They support Square and Clover, but Toast is still "to be announced". Might have to switch POS systems just for that lol
