A Feature Rich Event Management Platform Date: Jan 30 2023
Summary: Cvent is an essential tool for management of our large conferences and occasional webinars. It is a daily resources to monitor the registration of our events and to communicate with potential and confirmed attendees.
Positive: Cvent is a robust platform with a lot of different options for event management of all kinds. My organization utilizes its services to support in-person conferences and webinars throughout the calendar year. There are many options for building out the registration, developing the event's website and sending event-related emails to invitees and registrants.
Negative: The diversity of Cvent's options can sometimes be a downfall, as there are some features my organization doesn't utilize. The valuable functions can get lost in the menus full of other options. Thankfully, I've worked with the platform for several years now, so I'm reasonably well-versed in what is helpful to me and what is not, but I think there can be a steep learning curve for more casual users.

Great product with some challenges Edited: Nov 30 2022
Summary: Overall, I enjoy working in Cvent and appreciate the ability to provide a service to my clients that meets all their needs from start to finish on an event. I do look forward to continued updates in the platform and hope for some simplification of the processes.
Positive: I have been working in Cvent for years in some capacity, previously as an admin and currently as a user due to a job change. I appreciate the ability to manage a program from start to finish in the platform. I now use the MRF functionality that was not utilized in my past position and find it to be an amazing opportunity for information gathering prior to holding a client call regarding the event. Being able to see all the client needs in one place and to be able to review the needs and create suggestions, etc. in advance of that client call is invaluable.
Negative: I find that trying to locate things within the platform are more complicated than necessary at times. You have to almost know exactly where to find what you are looking for or you find yourself clicking on several different links, going down several different paths to get there. The Knowledge Center is helpful in some cases to take you straight there. The menu could be better designed.

Positive: Our institution is able to adapt Cvent to whatever event we plan. Our constituents find it to be user-friendly and training our employees is a breeze.
Negative: At first we had trouble figuring out all that Cvent could do. It was almost too robust! There is a learning curve, but once you have some experience with the system you can make magic!

All Inclusive and Easy to Use Edited: Nov 09 2022
Summary: Largely a good experience learning the basics and have really enjoyed the amount of education and industry resources available that go well beyond just their products. For the most part I've found a way to do anything I've wanted to do using Cvent which easily integrates with most other products and has a solution for most normal event management situations and is always trying to solve the next problem before it happens.
Positive: I like that everything you need is available in the same place and you can save and duplicate things, set up templates and share the same work with the entire team. I like how much training and help is offered. I like that the set up for most Cvent products is click and drop so the basics are easy to use and you can get started quickly with the products.
Negative: A lot of things seem perpetually under construction and while its great that things get updated regularly it's hard to have to keep looking for new things or learning new procedures.

Complex Solution for Complex Events Date: Nov 08 2022
Summary: If you have an event with complex needs, you really can't beat Cvent. They've been in the game for a long time, and while there's other cool solutions up and coming to keep your eyes on, Cvent is still miles ahead.
That being said, if you have a relatively simple registration or ticketing process, you can save yourself the expense and contracting headache and look elsewhere.Positive: We host a large international event every year - we require a registration platform that is fully multilingual, can handle taxes and discounts, multiple registration types, adding guests, donations, optional items and sessions, produce complex reports, and so much more.
Combine that with Cvent's Flex product which is now SUPER easy to build and manage events and website (vs previous Classic version which had a huge learning curve), and the fact that their helpdesk does address issues pretty quickly and you have a solution that after 8 years I still haven't been able to replace.Negative: Their solutions are Expensive, and pricing is not straightforward. In what is claimed is an effort to personalize pricing depending on how many products you use, multi-year contracts, etc., the process of re-upping contracts is honestly a nightmare. So much back and forth with different proposals, and it makes budgeting so difficult. I understand they have a lot of different solutions to offer to it's difficult to have straightforward pricing, but to be totally honest, we check for other solutions every single year to see if anyone else has caught up just to avoid this headache. (And p.s. I actually really love my account rep, no problems there, just the process.)

Cvent Handles it All Edited: Nov 03 2022
Summary: The product is easy to use and extremely comprehensive. Navigation is user-friendly and intuitive - although it could be more graphical in nature. We have successfully used the product to organize all aspects of small events up to those serving thousands.
Positive: Cvent thought of everything! From email communications, website creation, and varied registration paths to vendor RFPs and on-arrival apps to track attendance, Cvent has the entire package. Website and email creation is a simple drag & drop environment - and allows for various device previews before publishing.
Negative: While the environment allows for document and media libraries for shared file use in your events, it could be improved. For example, both could allow for drag & drop upload and multiple file selections for upload.

Positive: Cvent is very user friendly on the backend, and offers a wide array of tools. You can build a phenomenal website, run detailed reports, coordinate conference registration, amongst a host of other options. Their customer service is also top notch, and someone is available quickly to help with any questions or concerns that come up.

Impressive Tool, Great for organizations Date: Oct 28 2022
Summary: Cvent is one of the best registration portals we've used to date for free registrations. We really love the website and Attendee Hub set up, the classic design/easy options, and analytics reporting they offer.
Positive: Cvent is easy to design and easy to navigate for attendees. While it's not always the "perfect fit" for events (i.e. not great for elderly, non-techy demographic), it's very user-friendly overall with great ease of access. The tech support we've received has been phenomenal.
Negative: It definitely takes more work on the learning side of things, if you don't have a lot of graphics or web design background. It's customizable....to a limit. There are some things you really have to work to customize, and the web portal graphic sizing / design is limited.

Cvent: A Comprehensive Solution to Streamline Event Management Edited: Oct 14 2024
Summary: It's expensive so make sure you are willing and able to take use of all the features and functionalities to get the most of your money. When researching, also keep in mind several key features that might draw you into the system are additional costs (badge printing, branding package, speaker management) so be sure to get ALL in pricing for everything you think you would use. However overall the time and effort we save and ability to get views into our events makes it all worth it.
Positive: Ability to seamlessly integrate with on site solutions. Cvent has also helped us be able to pivot from in-person events to virtual events with ease. We were able to take an already curated list of people in attendance and invite them to attend a virtual event. Then with the integrated database, we were able to extend our invitations to cover more people who had previously attended the same event in other cities when we hosted it in the past enabling us to open up our attendee database with little additional work or cost. They also now have an online webinar hub that makes it easier to connect everything back to one another and host videos and other things as a repository to lead capture people well after an event has happened.
Negative: A few bits require work arounds and can occasionally not be intuitive to find where content is coming from to edit. Ability to test needs improvement. Would also like an an ability to override the WYSIWYG to make more dynamic websites (currently only seems to be able to done if you pay them) and incorporate more colors into a template. They've definitely been evolving their branding opportunities for sites though so I appreciate they listen to feedback and work to implement what the customer wants.

Cvent Date: Oct 25 2022
Summary: Cvent is an all-encompassing tool, which makes it great. You can use it from start to finish - from the registration of the meeting, to planning, to budgeting, to registration, and to final close out. It's nice to have everything in one place.
Positive: I can do the majority of my job in one place. My favorite tool and most useful is probably Venue sourcing. Although it could be improved (as anything can), it saves me a lot of time in calling/emailing individual hotels and collecting responses.
Negative: It can sometimes be glitchy or inconsistent. I have noticed that Cvent has been working on this lately, and they are trying to get a more consistent look and feel throughout. Sometimes the support can be frustrating as there can be misunderstandings or delayed response times.
