Description
WebPositive, commonly referred to as Web+, serves as the native web browser for Haiku. The name pays homage to BeOS' straightforward NetPositive while also highlighting its contemporary backbone: the WebKit. This open-source HTML rendering engine powers several popular browsers, including Safari for Mac OS X and Google's Chrome. By leveraging the continuously updated WebKit, Web+ is equipped to adapt to the latest advancements in web technologies. The user interface of WebPositive is designed to be intuitive: beneath a menu bar lies a navigation bar featuring buttons to revisit previous and subsequent sites in your browsing history, a stop button to halt page loading, and an optional button to return to your home page. Additionally, a status bar at the bottom of the window displays the URL of the currently loading site or the link under the mouse cursor. During page loading, a progress bar appears on the right side, providing users with a visual indication of the load status, enhancing the overall browsing experience. Overall, WebPositive combines functionality and user-friendly design to offer an efficient web surfing solution.
Description
iCab serves as a distinctive web browser for Apple Mac users, offering a variety of practical features that are often missing in other browsers. This browser has the capability to block unwanted elements such as advertisements and pop-ups. Furthermore, it allows for automatic configuration of numerous settings based on the URL you are visiting, enabling personalized browser experiences for different websites. When activated in Kiosk mode, iCab takes over the entire screen, preventing access to all other applications, making it perfect for use in public environments such as fairs, exhibitions, and hotels, where users need to gather information while safeguarding the system from unauthorized access. In addition, this mode can limit access to specific pages to enhance security further. Users can also download files and entire web pages for offline viewing, ensuring that content is accessible even without an internet connection. This flexibility makes iCab a suitable choice for a range of scenarios where online safety and convenience are paramount.
