It is crucial that parents or guardians inform the school each time their child is absent, as not all absences will be considered excused. To report an absence, it is necessary to either call the main office or submit a note detailing the reason for the absence in a clear manner. The process for attendance support within SPPS consists of three stages, becoming increasingly serious if a student continues to miss school. After a student accumulates three unexcused absences, an alert letter regarding attendance is sent home to the parents.
