Journal CleverNickName's Journal: Updated the GeekCode 21

Very exciting moment for me tonight: I updated my geekcode.

I even updated it using the geekcode generator, installed using fink on my iBook, running in an X11 terminal window.

Then I got it into my Red Hat machine using the iBook's webserver.

w00t!

Here it is:

-----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK-----
Version: 3.12
GPA d-- s+: a C+++ UL+++ P+>+++ L+++ E--- W+++ N+ o+ K+++ w--
O---- M+ V-- PS++(+++) PE Y++ PGP++>+++ t++@$ 5++ X+ R+ tv- b++ DI+ D++
G++ e h---- r+++ y+++
------END GEEK CODE BLOCK------

Decode it here, if you rate G- or below.

  • Man, looks like Wil has learned some Klingon finally!
  • ...here's mine:

    Bah! I didn't use any tools to create mine -- I did it by hand! Whippersnappers these days...

    (In the context of posting in Wil's journal, I guess the "t*" is the most important thing. ;-) )

    Cheers,

    Ethelred

    • Version 3.12, eh? Sigh, where are the changelogs? :)

      And with regard to the t-(---).. I don't hold it against you Wil, honest. *cracks whip*

      take that! Also done by hand, Huzzah!
  • E---? Emacs sucks? Vi forever?

    I am displeased with you, oh author of books I am looking forward to.

    Well, not that displeased. Maybe disgruntled. You know what? I shouldn't have brought this topic up.

    Congrats on the book sales! One of them was mine and I'm really looking forward to it, even if you are a vi user.

    Here is another geek test [innergeek.us] you may want to check out. It's a little more up-to-date (but a bit long). I'm taking a poll in my JE [slashdot.org] as well.

  • Yes, but you discredit any coolness in your Geekcode by saying "w00t!" in your comment while being over 15 years old :-)
  • What happened there? Am I blind or did the comments all dissapear some time ago? Was this done on purpose? Thanks.

    Every year that passes with me in a liberal arts program my code gets worse and worse. Like, sometimes instead of opening up Slashdot, I read Salon instead. It's crazy.

    I don't even remember how to program in Java anymore.
  • "y+++"?
    C'mon, be honenst. You can't be a "y" without adding the "*" at the end!
  • I see one of the changes is your B5 rating - it went to 5++, used to be 5- or thereabouts. So, you picking up on JMS's stuff? Whaddaya think about it? I'd be interested in your opinions.

    First Lwaxana, now Wesley. Next thing you know, Q will be hopping off a Vorlon cruiser. Oh well.

    Cheers,
    Wolfe.
