Marxist Hacker 42's Journal: Is it time for TV stations to upgrade to Drone Technology?

As protesters last night in Portland got ugly one of the incidents involved a green laser pointer and a news helicopter.

It got me wondering- for the sake of the safety of cameramen and pilots, is it time for an upgrade from the venerable old "eye in the sky" to more modern drone tech?

It is FAA violation to interfere with drone flight just as it is with manned flight with a laser pointer or mega flashlight. The great thing about drones you can have 10 of them in the back of van.

The cost of the fuel for a single flight is enough to buy a pricey drone. Using helicopters for observation is just stupid.
