The one simple fact? That the United States still has enough nuclear ICBMs to make the entire country of North Korea completely uninhabitable for the next 10,000 years. China, Russia, and whoever else notwithstanding, you poke the U.S. with a (nuclear) stick? There will be IMMEDIATE, DIRE CONSEQUENCES.

If the US does that, China will retaliate turn it into a nuclear wasteland. You can't just detonate multiple nuclear weapons right on their border.

In fact, the US risks starting a nuclear exchange if it uses just one, or if it invades.

Oh, believe you me, I'm fully aware of the consequences of all that, so much so that they didn't even bear mentioning. But the fact of the matter is: If North Korea managed to get a nuclear weapon detonated on U.S. soil, then ALL BETS ARE OFF. That's the real point of having nuclear weapons: AS A DETERENT TO USING THEM. Kim Jong Un doesn't seem to understand that; HE is the one 'waving his nuclear dick around', not U.S.. ***HE*** has to understand that ***HE*** and ***HIS COUNTRY*** will be the first to fal
