Journal bettiwettiwoo's Journal: Alien, Freddy, Jason, and ... Bambi? 8

Time has a list of the Top 25 Horror Movies and at spot #20 we find Bambi. Lets read that one more time, shall we?!

... and at spot number 20 we find BAMBI!

That's right: fawns, stomping rabbits, ice ... ooooooooh, spokey!

(Actually, to be fair, I don't know how serious this list is: they have Shaun of the Dead as their #1.)

Alien, Freddy, Jason, and ... Bambi?

  • I'm surprised that they missed The Shining [youtube.com].
    • Oh, come on: how can The Shining possibly compete with Bambi?!?

      While The Shining only has:

      Jack: Here's Johnny!
      Bambi has

      Thumper: Those are birds.
      Bambi: Bur ... Bur!
Thumper: Look! He's trying to talk.
I mean, can it get any scarier?!
      • I know I'm probably in the minority on this, but I really didn't care too much for Shaun of the Dead. It had a few parts that make me chuckle, but overall I was mostly bored.

Young Frankenstein is far superior... as is Army of Darkness.

By the way, what was up with the "one film per director" on that List? Lame...
Movies that I thought should have made the list:

        The Birds (Alfred Hitchcock)
        Se7en
        Event Horizon
        Bram Stoker's Dracula
        • Nice list, but Coppola's Dracula is so frigging overwrought it moves from horror to farce without breaking a sweat.

Oh, and for those of you who like a good thrill, get yourself a rental of Neil Marshall's Descent.
  • What are you saying? Of course Bambi is a horror flick. This deer is minding his own business right? But don't go into the meadow. Then BAM! Dead Mommy Dear.

Then, when it can't get any worse, the hunters burn everything down. The End.

The only better flick is Bambi Versus Godzilla.
