Journal pudge's Journal: Center for Science in the Public Interest Full of Crap 5
The head of CSPI, Michael Jacobson, was on Colbert tonight. He kept saying the CSPI's primary goal was to inform and educate the public, so, he says, we can make informed decisions. But he's lying. Their main goal is to ban things they don't like.
For example, it is in large part CSPI's fault we can't get trans fat in our foods. They have pushed for actual laws to ban it, and some idiot legislatures have actually agreed to it. They don't want to inform us, they want to enforce diets on us.
I automatically dismiss anything CSPI says.

Exactly. Hence Al Gore's lying about Global Warming this week when he said there's no serious scientific disagreement, even though the UN's own IPCC is only 67% to 90% certain that man-made global warming has had any "discernible influence on many physical and biological systems." If there's no scientific disagreement, why are they not 100% certain?
It's easier to lie than to tell the truth when you are convinced yourself, and want action taken.

I don't think there's a strong correlation there, but it is AS strong as many of the other correlations they push, at least. As to money: yeah, it's funny that Al Gore complains about all the money pumped into anti-global warming scientists, and yet the money pumped into pro-global warming scientists is orders of magnitude greater. But that's OK, because they are on the Right Side!
And they took away my dearest friend, Olestra. So 10% of the people got diarrhea from it - who cares? Let that 10% stop eating it!
They tried to have it banned, but failed: but they did succeed in so slandering the name that it was pulled for years. Howe
