Of course he's literally correct. The GOP is saying that, and they appear to be correct.

If you elect the Republicans they'll run the national debt ever higher, ensuring that we'll be taxed into the poor house for years to come, and on the way, you'll be sent overseas to be face a terrorist on every corner, and when you're gone, your job will be taken over by an illegal immigrant.

The only thing we can hope for is that neither party has control, and they actually have to (gasp!) work together.

I have often called for balance in the US GOV. My JEs here are good evidence.

I am no longer as sure of that anymore. These idiots seem to be quite intent on sniping each other as often as possible and sabotaging the other side at any cost.

Sad, but true - in many cases, gridlock at the federal level is preferable to single-party rule!

That's because both the Democrats and the Republicans have lost sight of the goal. Both have resorted to doing all they can to hold on to whatever power they've been able to grab. They don't care about the people they are supposed to represent, and I fear they haven't cared for quite some time.

Trick is that now, they don't even try to hide their contempt for the American People.

The growth of the national debt has actually been slowing due to increased tax revenues. (The tax cuts have actually led to growth and increased overall tax revenues.)

Now we can certainly be unsatisfied with some of the programs (Medicare Drug Coverage is the main one) that have been introduced that threaten to be budget busters in the future, but if you're going to be upset by that then you have to be horrified by the Democrats' refusal to address Social Security and the budget destroying effects that tha
