Of course indicting and convicting are different entities. Since Vick can afford the best of attorneys it will make the case against him all the harder. The story is here, and they have links to past stories on their NFL page.
Dog fighting is, to me, one of the most reprehensible things a person can be involved with. If Pacman can be supsended a year before any charges are brought, I see no reason why Vick should be allowed to play under indictment.

Shooting would be too good. How about a 20 year sentence to picking up doggie poop in the parks while wearing a sign saying "I hate dogs."
After he's done his "rounds", order him to walk the dogs of shut-ins (with adequate supervision, of course - other dog owners with big dogs who won't take to seeing an animal mistreated - keep Vick on a short leash, as it were).
I'd add "find a pigsty for him to sleep in" but he's not fit to sleep with pigs.
