"The power to tax and ration energy is the power to control the world -- to have life and death control over every human being on the planet. No government should ever have this power. The United Nations-IPCC process is not about the climate or saving the environment. It is about power and money -- lots of it.
you may also need to disable system restore, which will probably become obvious if you didnt
Obviously, the appendix is a useful place for storing things like paperclips, fingernail clippings, and loose tooth fillings
How much will car insurance cost for a blind driver? Will any company even cover them? Or will they just make all seeing drivers pay extra for Unseeing Motorist coverage?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadowgate_64:_Trials_of_the_Four_Towers not a reboot exactly, but they tried.
Seems to be a lot of adventure game love here. I found out recently that a reboot of the Tex Murphy series is in the works: http://www.unofficialtexmurphy.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2275
I think I read somewhere that they were planning SQ7 to be more of an action game. I don't know how true that is, but based on what has become of Leisure Suit Larry, I'm glad it ended with SQ6.
...it is now considered cruel to throw Paris Hilton into a large pot of boiling water.
Merit pay could also just end up causing even worse shortages of teachers in areas where kids don't do well in school. Teachers would try to get jobs in schools where they aren't really needed, where kids do well already.
Car Analogy Please writes to tell us that a new car unveiled at the Paris Auto Show was modeled after the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue car. GTbyCITROËN is the first car that has been designed in tandem with a video game to then spill out onto the actual pavement. "The GTbyCITROËN is the product of a partnership built up during the creation of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Takumi Yamamoto, from Citroen and Kazunori Yamauchi from Polyphony Digital Inc, the games developer were inspired by each others industries to design a concept car for the game that then flowed further into the real-world. The game version of the car mirrors the real-world performance of the concept."
CNet pointed out a great use of timeline creation site "Dipity" that has resulted a timeline of internet fads and memes. While there are some subtle inaccuracies and a few notable omissions, it seems to have touched on most of the big stuff. Everything from GOTO being considered harmful to "the website is down," it's a great trip down memory lane if you don't mind a few speedbumps like the goatse guy.
Ponca City, We Love You writes: "A new compact camcorder mounts under the barrel of almost any firearm to record up to a full hour of audio and video in a high-quality, secure digital format encrypted to prevent tampering, and with security software designed to provide rigorous chain-of-custody evidence documentation. PistolCam takes a page from now-standard "dashcams," which have proven to be a powerful legal and investigatory police tool. According to a 2002 International Association of Chiefs of Police study, officers were exonerated 93 percent of the time (pdf) in cases where video evidence was available. "Let's be honest here. Any punk with a cell phone can record an officer, upload it to the Internet and make it look horrible," says PistolCam spokesman Bill DeProspo. "But PistolCam can give you a leg up in the court and in the public arena. You'll have a clear, unbiased account of the incident on camera." The device could provide unprecedented training footage. "Imagine being able to show recruits use-of-force incidents from the firearm's perspective, particularly in drawn-out standoff situations," DeProspo added."
