Journal Journal: Geez, I'm starting to get cranky
I've done two posts today in which I call the subject of an article "stupid" (example 1 and exzample 2).
I have to watch it. It's a bad habit to start thinking of yourself as superior.

Just an experiment. I'd like to know two things.
(1) Does anyone read journal entries?
(2) How do people find journal entries they might want to read?
If I'm you're fan, I probably don't know you, but I read a post of yours that seemed good enough that I wanted to see your next posts.
Someone posted the idea in their sig, I thought it was a good idea although I can't remember who it was.
After 2 weeks of using this strategy, I have started noticing some patterns. My "friends" continue to post interesting comments- it wasn't just a fluke. Their friends generally post interesting comments too, thought that's more hit-and-miss.
Overall, it works, and I would like more of my friends to do the same, so I can read more interesting stuff (what their friends write) and less predictable stuff like M$ bashing. I know they're evil already, let's improve the signal/noise ratio.
If more people used such a strategy the trolls would hardly ever get read, which is fine by me.
Kudos to whoever put in these features.
I found the following post of interest: Attacking the Spammer Business Model
Finally, that meme is getting out.
Since since I find there's a huge number of trolls around here, and few insightful AND original people, I decided I would add the author of that thread to my list of friends (I can't figure out how to just list myself as a fan... friend might be a bit presumptuous).
Even though I've been reading slashdot for quite some time, I jusr recently started poking around to see whats what.
Obviously, I found out about the Journal.
