Buy one of the halogen bulbs that are still allowed for sale. You'll end up with more light, but basically the same amount of heat.

They actually generate a lot of heat. Not as much as incandescent, but they are still not all that efficient.
In my experience if you really want to 'fit in' and be part of the group you need to start smoking. Those 5 or 10 minute breaks they take every hour to go outside to smoke is when they do all their social networking.
Haswell completely redefines the expectations for processor graphics.
.. for Intel. It still seems to lag behind AMD's on-die graphics.
My parents still have pulse dialing.. Every once in a while Bell tries to sneak the Tone dialing onto their bill and they have to call and have it taken off. The funny thing is, I bet is costs Bell more now to supply Pulse dialing than Tone.
336.75 miles if they are end to end. If you placed them in a diagonal you could get over 386.36 miles.
They would occupy 0.21 square miles.
I'm waiting for 3d printers that can print metal.
Compact Discs are digital. LaserDiscs can be analog.
Audiophiles complain about music stored on digital media, its too bad Laserdiscs didn't catch on and too bad albums weren't released on Laserdisc, we'd have a much better analog source for music. Way less popping and hissing than vinyl.
2 monitors are much better than 1 large monitor in my experience, but that may mostly be because of the habits I've gotten into. Newer versions of windows work a bit better with single monitors, but its still not as convenient as having 2 separate ones.
I had no idea this existed, it is very cool and would make for a good learning experience. If I hadn't already posted I'd mod your post up..
But how about the feeling you'd get if you were a student and the code you wrote or modified actually made it into an OS that you could install and run on your own computer, and that thousands of others would also install and run.. and your teacher is the guy who maintains the project, so you should have a good chance of your code actually making it in.
I'm assuming by 'work on' he means the actual code of the OS.
Its impossible to do this with Windows, and Linux is already fairly feature complete. Maybe ReactOS has places where it could use some fairly simple code that would at the same time teach the students how to write code for an OS...
I just read Kurt Vonnegut's first novel, Player Piano.which happens to deal with this issue. I found it quite enjoyable.
That's the legal age in most places of Canada to start working, what's the problem? In Ontario you'd need to be 15 to work in a factory. I had my first job (part time) when I was that age.
Have computers made our lives better? I mean, really, have they? Are we overexposed to them?
I completely agree. How many of us started out with a C64 and turned out fine?
