I think the term you are looking for is "representative democracy", which may be either a republic or a monarchy.

yeah...a "representative democracy" the way choosing Coke or Pepsi counts as selecting your favorite beverage.

with the two-party stranglehold its neither a democracy nor representative.

as some of you know, i've spent time in the florida prison system...this stuff is SOP...prisons are basically just the streets with much higher prices.

imo, its great that inmates get to watch illegal movies, brought in the guards, while smoking their illegal weed, often brought in by the guards (and of course through other less...sanitary? ways), while talking on their illegal cell phones, often brought in by...well, you already know.

it's all mostly a big game...now i'm not saying people don't belong in prison, lord knows i've met plenty who do, but a dude running a pirate movie site?

not really, imho at least.

it may be before your time, but WordPerfect was a real powerhouse in its heyday.

of course you didn't need to limit your work to 640k,,,that would be ridiculous and believe it or not, programmers knew how to page and cache memory...even back in the "stone age" of the 80's and DOS.

in fact, i would absolutely assert that back in those days, memory management in all forms was a constant concern of hard-core programmers, and developers such as I were always looking for ways to optimize it use and overcome its limitations,

let me preface that i have loved astronomy and space my entire life, so no hate here...

my first wall poster when i was 8 was a map of the local group that i got out of a natgeo...this was 40 years ago and at the time i remember my mind utterly being blown by that map and the realization of how tiny i was.

my problem with modern cosmology is, however, the new trend that propose theories with no testable means of proving them. i understand that with cutting edge theory sometimes there may be a lag between the idea and the ability to test, but at some point theories that are non-testable should be dropped from the scientific canon.

personally, i like to limit theory proposals to those that can somehow be proved by the scientific method, and keep others in scifi.

if you know you really (i mean really!) purchased a CD years ago, shouldn't that make it ok to download the same CD in FLAC or 320vbr from your fav pirate site??

i was/am a huge Who fan, and think Quadrophenia is simply epic...it was, in fact, the first CD i ever bought back in 1984...doesn't that mean I purchased the right to the content forever?
