Agree. I watched the "can your shell do this?" video and saw nothing that I would want a shell to do.
He built a shell that does cool things he wants? Great. I could build a shell that does neat things I want it to, but I don't think anyone else would want to download it.
The easiest way would be to just get an old machine. 15 years ago was the birth of the Pentium III, so with not much work you should be able to find a perfectly fine 10- to 12-year-old 1 GHz PIII with 512 MB RAM for next to nothing. (I'm personally a fan of Dell OptiPlex GX corporate desktops and HP Pavilions -- generally well-supported hardware and durable.) Otherwise, try VirtualBox on the modern computer of your choice.
I have instructions in my will to be buried with these discs.

I've been using Windows and Mac OS full-time since 1995 (3.1 and 7.5.3, respectively, along with Linux in various flavors since 1998) and in all my transitions, it's been -- at most -- a matter of a few hours to get the essentials working, and then tweaks over the course of a week or so to get all the little things to my liking. (Or as close as the environment allowed.)

And FFS, this is the DEVELOPER conference. New product announcements here are few and far between. Here's an overview of the last ten years of WWDC. If you can read that list and still be surprised or disappointed at what was or wasn't announced today, you're an idiot.
