Yep, this has been true of every web service I've been involved with, all the way back to the BBS days. 90% of users are consumers and only about 10% actually contribute anything. Twitters numbers look pretty good, actually.
Sure you can teach a coal miner to code. For example:
A variable is like a bucket. A bucket that can hold different types of coal. You can glue several buckets together to hold several pieces of coal, this is called an array of buckets. Just remember the first bucket is called bucket number zero.
Of course not all coal miners will want to be coders,
but why can't you teach a coal miner to code?

Even in Chess there is a separate women's league. Although women can play in men's tournaments.
Camping out in line months in advance does?

I've never bought an Apple product (and never will), but for pretty much anything else I might want that has a future release date I can pre-order it and get it on day of release. Do Apple not do this?
They do, but pre-ordering doesn't get you an article on Slashdot or make you a hero amongst your friends.
Their mission had been going so well until the failure
I think that could describe a lot of missions.
You must really be confused about Scientology..
Hmm, I wonder if the brick manufacturer is changing the specs of their bricks every week. Of course brick v8.12 is not compatible with brick v7, and currently there is no compatible mortar for 8 series bricks.
You don't give them your PIN, you give them the 3 numbers on the back of the card. You only need to have your chip read and PIN entered when using the card at a physical store.
Beta needs more whitespace.
