Comment and away we go (Score 2) 81

This will continue to climb UNTIL real measures are taken by ALL nations.
WHen most nations continue to grow their emissions and just 1 of them makes up about 50% of the growth each year, well, not much chance for seeing this drop.
The west needs to get smart and start taxing ALL consumed goods/services based on where the worst part/sub-service comes from. Then and only then, will we see all nations work to drop it.

Comment Which group fights against REAL ID? (Score 1) 159

Oh yeah. EXTREMISTS IN BOTH PARTIES.
The far left because they want to allow criminals, terrorists and illegal aliens to not be caught,
while the far right screams that government is out to get them.

Yet, we NEED vetted IDs for every major thing that we do, and we need the same for some issues on the net.

CA is entitled to just under 30% of the Colorado River System. Problem is that until last year, they have always drawn a great deal more water than allowed. They have taken upwards of 50% of the water. Where life gets interesting on this, is that neither Utah, but esp Colorado, are taking what they are entitled to. These 2 states provide more than 80% of the water, are entitled to something like 40% of it, but have been taking less than 10% of it. However, Utah has announced they will go up to their limit, and Colorado is suggesting they may increase from their current 4% up to 15% ( they are entitled to ~24% ).
If California is not taken off Colorado river water soon, the entire system will collapse.

Comment Dark ages of the Internet???? (Score 1) 159

What total BS is that?
The net since its founding has NEVER been dark. It was always way ahead of the times.
Age verification being bad?? Nope. What is bad is not having a decent way to check it. If governments are going to require companies to check these, then they need to provide vetted Digital Certificates.

Comment No. The issue is bad subsidies. (Score 1) 120

Seriously, the Biden/goon squad pushed a horrible EV charging subsidies. Instead of paying companies, we should allocate/buy the land between populations for them to put multiple EV charging companies on. Then companies would build since they would know that potential customers were there.

Comment Re:Supersonic intakes (Score 1) 23

Probably the biggest downfall of the concorde was not noise, but very limited range. That pretty much limited it to the pond jump, though I was always surprised that neither BA nor AF did the LA to Hawaii route. Though to be honest, it would be a bit on the far end of the range due to massive fuel usage once sub-sonic(not sure that I would trust it esp during storms). And Hawaii to anywhere is Asia was out.
Had they built it bigger with tankage that would allow at least getting LA/Hawaii safely, then with a newer larger aircraft, Hawaii/Japan-Australia, I think that they would have been used all over the world for flying over all of the oceans.

Boom is targeting purely higher-end customers with seating similar to today's business class. If Boom and the airlines do NOT screw this up, this will become the standard aircraft for business class for jumping the pond as well as LA-Hawaii. Oddly, with the current design, Hawaii to Asia is out. Too short of a range.
Of course, Starship may actually create a situation in which a new first class for replacing the 3-5 hr supersonic routes (i.e. 10+ hrs via subsonics) with less than 60 minutes. So, a simple set of civilian bases would be UK, NYC, LA, Hawaii, Australia/Japan, perhaps India.

Comment Worthless; Trump will remove this. (Score 1) 282

Far better to put a tax ON CAR DEALERS, based on the % of new vehicles sold.

Year 1:
> 10% No-emissions new vehicles, e.g. EV or even Hydrogen, then 5% cut in corporate tax.
10-5%, then regular corporate tax.

Year 2:
> 15% No-emissions new vehicles, e.g. EV or even Hydrogen, then 5% cut in corporate tax.
15-5%, then plan corporate tax.

Year 3-10: increase brackets by 5% each year.
So year 3 bracket for new no-emissions vehicles sold will be 20%-10%.
