Re "that was not undisclosed Official, because they were not authorized to talk"
The work as a journalist, freedom to publish, the tools to publish are fully protected in the USA.
A citizen talking to a journalist about police, NSA, GCHQ, mil, legal work, courts may not be as protected as expected.
Recall the NSA and FIRSTFRUITS.

All that end-to-end (E2E) encryption talk was just a way to herd users to a NSA ready collection service.
Re "Does the tool's vendor share data with third parties or affiliates?"
How does the NSA count Australia, the GCHQ, NZ and Canada?
As part of the US gov?
Re "approved for official US government use?" Part of PRISM in the first year?

Submission + - FBI discussed interviewing Michael Flynn 'to get him to lie' and 'get him fired' (foxnews.com)

RoccamOccam writes: Explosive new internal FBI documents unsealed Wednesday show that top bureau officials discussed their motivations for interviewing then-national security adviser Michael Flynn in the White House in January 2017 — and openly questioned if their "goal" was "to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired."

The handwritten notes — written by the FBI's former head of counterintelligence Bill Priestap after a meeting with then-FBI Director James Comey and then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, Fox News is told — further suggested that agents planned in the alternative to get Flynn "to admit to breaking the Logan Act."

The Logan Act is an obscure statute that has never been used in a criminal prosecution; enacted in 1799 in an era before telephones, it was intended to prevent individuals from falsely claiming to represent the United States government while abroad.

1. Nations wanted their video camera tax.
Broadcasting with a video camera? Thats a video camera tax.
2. Want to broadcast with a consumer computer, camera and lens?
Invest in the other science/video camera product. Buy a camera for video clips, images for fun. Buy the science/video camera to work with...
Two products to sell, support, upgrade.
Why sell one consumer camera with extra video functions?
Sell that as another video camera product given the demand for broadcasting.

Submission + - Top FBI Legal Minds Left Behind Handwritten Notes Detailing Flynn Plan (washingtontimes.com) 4

calebb writes: Over 3 years ago, top leadership and legal experts at the FBI plotted to "get [33 year veteran and 3-star Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn] to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired," according to Mueller Special Counsel Office documents declassified today by U.S. Attorney Timothy Shea. Additional reporting available via Gregg Re at Fox.

Of particular note is the revelation that the day after the Flynn FBI interview, FBI Asst. Director for Counterintelligence Bill Priestap appeared to be having second thoughts and noted “I thought about it last night and I believe we should rethink this.” Despite these objections, the plan continued, and the Mueller investigation would begin just a few months later.

Former FBI Lawyer Lisa Page also notes that they should carefully & casually mention that lying to FBI agents is a crime, in order to avoid arousing suspicion while still complying with the law regarding 18 U.S. Code 1001. (page 3, document ID DOJSCO — 700023462)

The rest of the USA wants to get back to framing, food production, factory work, engineering, design work and transport.

Getting city and road work done. Getting ready for summer and winter food production.
Reopen and grow food, make food, transport food.
Stay closed and import food.
Open and let the private sector wok pout new ways to make products and services that are in demand.
