You forgot Firefox and Visual Studio.
You forgot Firefox and Visual Studio.
I'm getting seeeerious deja vu. Like, how I and dozens of other people responded vociferously to Mozilla about their Firefox "visual refresh" and the kind of responses we got. Or lack thereof.
Chase Visa Freedom sent me one of those chipped credit cards a month after I thought about asking for it for upcoming trip to Europe on vacation.
In the UK at least, I doubt that card will be accepted. Chip and PIN payment is the only thing accepted (in person) these days - chip and signature has long been phased out. I'd be interested as to what happens if you try to use that card.
The reason the US has opted for signature instead is because they think people will have problems remembering the PINs.
People in the US will have trouble remembering 4 digits? Hahahahahaha
You still sign to *ahem* "verify" that it's really the owner of the card that made the transaction? I remember when we used to do that... when I was too young to actually own a credit card. *snicker*
They already did: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wi...
... and we found 2 weeds. One of them was one of the safest substances known to mankind, which chilled you out and even had some health benefits. And the other was tobacco, which causes major health problems in just about every organ in the body.
AND WE MADE MARIJUANA ILLEGAL.
I have a better idea: preload nothing but the OS and desktop environment (well and key utilities like voice memo/dictation software and an alarm clock) and leave the rest up to me.
It's called Cyanogenmod.
Monetization?
I just do not think you have had enough experiment with. delete that, delete that, dear mom let's set so double the killer delete select all
It's called a PC. Hook it up to the TV
Am I missing something here? How do you do that without having a big ugly PC sitting next to the TV?
Keep in mind that happy users are silent users.
Oh STFU with that. What the heck is the point in getting feedback if all you're going to say it "screw it, most users are silent and happy"? What we KNOW is from the feedback, and it's overwhelmingly negative. Here's my feedback:
I don't like tiny icons.
I don't like black and white icons.
I don't like the reduced toolbar customizability of Australis.
I don't like the lack of a status bar.
I don't like a popup for my bookmarks by default instead of a sidebar.
And I definitaly Do Not Like tabs on top!
All of those changes were tested before major release, and major opposition to them was voiced. On every occasion, people opposing the change were told to fuck off. So I (and many others) did. Fuck you, Firefox, with your shitty UX changes.
Yeah, they should rename it to what we call it in the UK: oilseed rape.
I've already been lucky enough to get FTTC, and my connection varies between 50/5 and 20/2, I'd say. Other than some improvement in my upload speeds, I'm pretty much happy with the bandwidth. Why would I need more? I have an uncapped connection, but if I had 500Mbps I rather doubt my ISP would be willing to offer THAT uncapped... if I could even find anything that big (legally) to download on a regular basis.
This just seems like a big PR thing BT are doing so they can tell simpletons like David Cameron that "the UK now has super-mega-ultra-uber fast broadband". I'm with the rest of ya; finish the FTTC rollout, get that too ~100% of the population.
FTTC should be enough for anyone.
Using Chrome latest here.
Why??
A language that doesn't affect the way you think about programming is not worth knowing.
