Camping out in line months in advance does?
In certain circles, probably.

I've never bought an Apple product (and never will), but for pretty much anything else I might want that has a future release date I can pre-order it and get it on day of release. Do Apple not do this?
They do, but pre-ordering doesn't get you an article on Slashdot or make you a hero amongst your friends.
Their mission had been going so well until the failure
I think that could describe a lot of missions.
You must really be confused about Scientology..
Hmm, I wonder if the brick manufacturer is changing the specs of their bricks every week. Of course brick v8.12 is not compatible with brick v7, and currently there is no compatible mortar for 8 series bricks.
You don't give them your PIN, you give them the 3 numbers on the back of the card. You only need to have your chip read and PIN entered when using the card at a physical store.
Beta needs more whitespace.
(Yes, that was sarcasm)
And your name is Robert Paulson.
Who is in charge here? Who is the master-beta?
Maybe Slashdot and/or Dice got bought by Yahoo and we missed the memo?
Agree on all points. A cheap Wordpress ripoff is in no way an improvement. In a world of a million look-alike websites, why put yourself in that group?
I don't get it. Same thing here in Canada, people complain they don't see the same ads as shown in the US. I hate commercials, I change the channel or pick up my phone when the commercials come on. It blows my mind that people get excited about them.
What the article doesn't mention: 1.4 tbs down, 10mbs up
Yes, but their intelligence is outweighed by their deliciousness.
I haven't look at the commercial products since I wanted to set up something free. However the free solutions *will* require quite an investment in time to learn how everything works and set up your device profiles.
I'm using Serviio on my CentOS box, it took me weeks to get the profiles for all my devices working properly, but now it transcodes on the fly to my Panasonic and Samsung BueRay players (if you don't have a smart TV, get a BlueRay player that supports DLNA, should be around $100), and it works with our Android and iDevices as well.
DLNA seems to be a work in progress, it's not as seamless or as polished as I'd like it to be
Long story short, if you want to do it with free software, the technology is currently at a place where you will have to spend a lot of time getting everything working. I'm not sure how the commercial offerings compare, that might be a route to go if you don't have time to spend.
I program, therefore I am.
