Ever heard of the Salem Witch Trials?
Ever heard of the Salem Witch Trials?
Read between the lines. They're laundering money. Crypto has been used by criminals since it's inception. Now it's being used as a hedge against government currency devaluation, which is just another way of avoiding being controlled by the government. You'd have to be thick in the head not to see that.
Discord is more like a 21st century IRC server than Facebook.
Never understood the appeal of IRC or of real-time chat. Where's the 21st century BBS?
Still don't understand Minecraft.
That's sad. I loved Scratch. I used it to teach my kid, we built a pretty good game with it.
No. How do I get a job like that? Does it pay well?
I understand. You want Stalin to eliminate all local considerations, and place decision making as far away from the practical realities of the situation as possible. Because you want things to be fair.
Your position is not particularly unique. The people in China, Russia and Vietnam felt the same way you do.
So, if you're living in a city whose industry is gone, filled with crumbling infrastructure and poverty, and Amazon agrees to locate part of their operation in your city if certain compromises are made, but will go somewhere else if they are not, you don't want your elected officials to be permitted to negotiate with them?
You're all kinds of stupid, aren't you?
Do they still teach The Crucible in high school? The story of the hysteria of the Salem witch trials, and the horrors that ensue when suspects are persecuted before the justice system is given a chance to function? More relevant than ever before, I would say. If he's guilty, he'll be judged by a jury of his peers and incarcerated. If he's not, he shouldn't have his life destroyed by an angry mob purely because he was accused. This isn't right. These "activists" should spend a few months in prison and be given a criminal record. Mob justice being given social approval is not something we should accept.
I think it has more to do with people who grew up reading books vs people who grew up reading on the Internet. When publishing cost money, you couldn't really expose yourself to the idiocy you see online without reading the walls of a public toilet.
Yeah, if you are going to communicate with someone with Google Translate, you want to use the results you get as keywords for research and not much else. Unless you want to look like a moron.
If you're interested in doing that, I recommend the Language Learning for Netflix Chrome extension. It let's you view two sets of subtitles at the same time, hover over a word for a definition and adjust the playback speed. I've been using it as part of my self designed program to teach myself Japanese. It's great.
Nobody actually believes any of this ridiculous narrative, surely. This is laughable in the contempt it shows for the reader. Or, perhaps not. Underestimating stupidity... I have a bad habit of that.
It's not just about creating coins. It's a distributed ledger. There will eventually be no coins left, and miners will be paid transaction fees for the service they provide just like any bank. If Bitcoin endures long enough, that is.
Last I heard religion was firmly a conservative thing.
Catholic Worker Movement. The Catonsville 9. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.. Women's Christian Temperance Movement.
Religion is neither "liberal" no "conservative".
It is clear that the individual who persecutes a man, his brother, because he is not of the same opinion, is a monster. - Voltaire
