The situation has been exposed: traditional taxi services have been suffering from a monopoly position, and there is clearly room for competition that reworks their model into something more fair for the drivers, and as a good opportunity for a startup that wants to make it happen. The demand is there, it just takes a group with the right plan to capitalize on the opportunity.

I finally switched to Mint with Cinnamon and love it. I appreciate what Ubuntu has done to make Linux usable on the desktop, but in that spirit I am now supporting Mint, which seems to have taken over that position with a great interface that promises consistency.

Why is this only being limited to acts "on a computer"? If they feel so strongly about it, why doesn't it apply to any such act regardless of a computer being involved?

Part of their deal when they bought out a subsection of Nokia was that they couldn't use the Nokia name on such products.

That would explain frame rate, if they couldn't get their physics/AI routines to work fast enough (although they could use interpolation routines to alleviate that), but does not explain the rendering resolution. Do they expect us to believe they had the CPU working on shaders or rasterization? Even post-processing effects would be handled by the GPU.

The worst part is when shortcut keys and mnemonics are changed because of a different language, I navigate by keyboard and have to re-learn everything on other systems and guess what the right command is if I don't know the language.

Couldn't they just have a USB ID/Bluetooth ID whitelist?

That and Nickelodeon is where kids rule.

Exactly, I don't want an OS that's a resource hog. As for smartphones? They can't keep running at top speed for long before getting heat throttled, or the battery dying. It's apples and oranges. And they still have moments of slowdown and stuttering with all that power. I'd rather have a smooth experience where the OS stays out of the way.
