If you want the convenience, be prepared to pay for it. I recognize the inherent insecurity and instability of such devices and will never let one near my home or network. BK is just playing the hand they were dealt, so to speak, by the numbnuts at Google. Probably goes for Alexis, too. We as consumers need to be more aware of what these devices do and the hazards they pose.
I recently shopped for a new TV. Looked at flat and curved screens, hated the curved screens and couldn't stand the glare. Read the reviews, too, and concluded that curved screens are going away, just like 3D did. Bought an LG that was one step below their OLED's. Couldn't be happier - oh, and it's not hooked up to my network so it's just a dumb TV.

Haven't taken the time to read all the comments, but don't certain driver-less and current safety type features depend on lines to keep you in a lane? If there is no center line how is an autonomous car going to determine the the correct lane to be in?

Agreed. I trust no on in these positions to stop just because it is unlawful to continue. Especially with all the whining about how "useful" (i.e., no proof that they helped in anyway) they have been. Perhaps I've been jaundiced by all 24 and all those other programs but since when does the expiration of a law mean anything? It's not like enforcers can seal off a room or disconnect servers from the Intertubes.
