they could have used a real security model, locked down the system, and there would be no malware, no virus, no antivirus, no UEFI, no nothing today.

o boy..... what did I just read? I don't know whether to laugh or actually sigh that you somehow actually somehow believe that drivel that you posted.

Comment Direct X vs Open GL (Score 4, Insightful) 496

The only issue is that they are claiming that Open GL version runs better then the Direct X version is we really do not know if they are the same graphic detail. The reason I say this is look at the TF2 Mac port that uses Open GL, its not in any regards the same graphic quality as the Direct X windows version. I am beginning to wonder if the same thing is why the Windows version is rendering using less fps. We don't have any screenshots of the differences, just one paragraph on a blog that is quite lite in details.

I never knew how to change my own brakes either, one day I finally said screw it I'm going to learn how hard can it be. Surprisingly it is extremely extremely simple, with the advent of sites like YouTube you can find dedicated video guides that will walk you step by step. If you have a newer car (Year 2000+) It is guaranteed to be extremely simple.

A video that explained everything nicely to me was this one.

Once you do it once you won't believe that you used to pay to have it done.

Does VLC pay those licensing costs? Is there some sort of "free software" exemption?

For the United States the fear would be over the Libdvdcs , as it is how VLC plays DVDs. The library just uses a generated list of possible player keys, and depending on how you look at it could be violation of the DMCA, although it has not been tested in court.
