Comment Re:about helmets (Score 1) 947

After having my frame fail on me - top tube and down tube welds broke away from stem - you won't see me without a helmet. I was knocked unconscious for a little while, helmet was cracked, face turned into goulash. But hey, I'm not eating from a straw and I don't drool more than I used to.

Comparing motorcycle crashes vs bicycle isn't necessarily a good comparison - 60 mph vs. 15 mph. And why would you extrapolate from that image that it's not worth it to wear a bike helmet? I took a good shot to the temple, and the helmet absorbed a lot of the impact. A broken jaw isn't quite the threat as a shot to the head.

I recommend a helmet - skull vs concrete doesn't end well.

Since when do reviews matter? Hopefully consumers are getting smarter and seeing that being shiny doesn't warrant hundreds of dollars more. I'm likely not buying one either, but the current ads showing Surface vs iPad drive the point home pretty hard, for this geek anyway.

Do you still think I'm pretty?

No, but the order takes a finite amount of time to fulfill. So with a large enough operation, you *can* have a butcher cutting the number of steaks ordered each hour.

Online ordering makes scheduled ordering much easier to do. I detest shopping, so if I could have a standard order set up each week, that not only helps me, but Amazon can use that data to further their scheduling and ordering optimization while minimizing waste.
