Comment EV Battery charging issues in cold weather (Score 1) 382

EV Battery charging issues in cold weather are not political, they are real and they are difficult to resolve.
1) batteries are less efficient in the cold
2) chargers are slower in the cold
3) if your vehicle's battery isn't warm to begin with, it will not charge
4) wait times outside charging stations are longer, especially when batteries are charging more slowly

Republicans aren't part of the problem, they're the WHOLE problem. The GOP talking points network Fox News spreads so many lies and so much disinformation that Republican voters are seriously misinformed about facts and science. Vaccines are safe and effective; Doctors used to be people we could trust before "Doctor Oz" and Ronnie Jackson. While I think it's great that some people are trying to bridge the divide, I *like* knowing that some books teach you things that make you feel uncomfortable, like HISTORY and BIOGRAPHIES and EVOLUTION. I'm not planning to subjugate myself to their dumb nonsense and impractical bullshit. Cops shouldn't murder suspects. Man did things that negatively impacted the earth, creating the catastrophic climate change we're now experiencing. There are too many racist, uninformed, or delirious viewpoints spouted by Republican information sources. Make it stop!

Comment hahahaha Paul Thurott called out Sony (Score 1) 26

As Paul Thurott sumrised in his recent "Windows Weekly" podcase, failure to sign the agreement would have allowed Microsoft to say "Fuck You" and stop producing Call of Duty for the Playstation. Hey, it was a nice offer; but also, Microsoft/Activision earns a billion dollars a year from the COD franchise, so it would be dumb to stop production for the Playstation platform - and would probably trigger shareholder action.

Comment How is this "Underpaying"? (Score 1) 338

Don't you mean, the airlines are "overcharging" for direct flights to the midflight destination?

A more fair way to charge for tickets would be to assign a rate to passenger + baggage weight, and bill people for flights based on how much fuel they use. OK, it's a FAT TAX but also charges people more for bringing heavy suitcases. If you're skiplagging, you probably are not checking bags and only bringing carry-ons, so you're using less space in the airline - which is their primary limitation, not fuel.

2) If there ARE real UFOs, we should continue the work re-engineering the foreign technology, and ALSO we should STFU about this work.

Nothing good can come from making this information public before it's actualized as new science & engineering breakthroughs.

The flip side of massive immigration is to answer the question: what do immigrants need?
The answer is: EVERYTHING.
So this is an opportunity to build out infrastructure, housing, schools, hospitals, and the other services needed for a giant influx of population.
