The UK government, and both the major political parties, have committed tens of billions to nuclear. Cost is apparently not a consideration in their pursuit of it. Hinkley Point C is going to be the most expensive object on Earth when finished. They were so desperate to build it, they got the Chinese to invest in UK critical infrastructure and promised the most eye watering subsidies we have ever seen.

The UK seems to be hell bent on making nuclear happen, no matter the cost, or how long it takes. The idea that we are all-in on renewables at the expensive of nuclear, especially when there is effectively a ban on on-shire wind, and the off-shore wind auctions are so bad that they are failing to attract any bids, is laughable. It's the exact opposite, we are pissing away incredible sums of money on nuclear power.

Nuclear is one of the worst solutions. Even if it was affordable, it will take too long to build, and even if it didn't then half the countries in the world couldn't use it anyway.

Renewables are the solution, they work just fine. Let's not waste yet more money on a technology that has been failing to deliver for getting on 80 years.

Andor was in the last 5 years... I think the thing is, even the original trilogy isn't quite as good as nostalgia and mythology suggests. They are fun movies, sure, but the level they have been hyped up to is unjustified.

Because of that, nothing will ever compare to them and fans who think that way will always be disappointed. I'm not saying there haven't been some really terrible SW shows lately, e.g. Boba Fett and everything past season 1 of The Mandalorian, but they can't seem to enjoy any of it because they are always comparing to a mythological perfect bit of pulp sci-fi.

The core value of the right wing is obedience. You obey people above you because they're better than you and in exchange for that people below you obey you. It's all about obedience. Once you understand that everything the right wing does makes sense. Especially how they call themselves conservative while doing crazy ass shit that no actual conservative person would ever do. Because the core value is obedience and maintaining that obedience is more important than maintaining safe conservative policies

He can't run for governor again in 2026 because of constitutionally mandated term limits that he would need the voters to sign off on at 66% to repeal. So he's going to not be in any political office in 2026.

He pissed off and shit on a ton of his own people when he was trying to secure the nomination for this year. In particular he had 300 million dollars in federal funding that he blocked in order to punish people who voted against allowing him to run while remaining governor.

DeSantis is a scary ass mother fucker. There are multiple credible reports of him taking part in and enjoying torture. He has repeatedly banned books. His surgeon general is a horrible political appointee who openly spreads pseudoscientific nonsense. He is legitimately terrifying.

He is however basically inhuman and a complete unrepentant asshole unable to hide that on the campaign trail and it's basically sunk him this year. And he bet too heavily on winning the primary and being the Republican candidate and also on the Republicans in the House of Representatives shutting down the government and causing a recession that would make him a shoe in.

He bet and he lost and when he's no longer in a position of power where he can use that power to punish his own party members they're going to eat him alive.

There have been some women getting alarmed by men entering the women's bathroom. Trans men in some places are legally required to use the bathroom they were assigned at birth.

Unisex bathrooms with private stalls (not US style ones, proper doors and ideally a call button) seems to be the best option.

Many places already have unisex bathrooms, such as aircraft. Some places in the UK have been trying them, including some schools that say they are good for discipline.
