Our education system has abandoned most 'life skills'. Those include things that everyone needs to know (basic cooking & cleaning; how to change a tire; how to manage money; etc.) But we're going to have a high school teacher (who usually can't code their way out of a wet paper bag much less design a ui or debug data access code) 'teach' students programming.

Most high school science teachers aren't chemists, either, but they're trained in teaching the principles for a student to understand the basics of chemistry for general knowledge. Most high school home-economics teachers are chefs. Most teachers aren't carpenters or electricians or accountants, etc.

Sets don't need hard boundaries to be useful terms.

I realize this is entirely anecdotal, but simply by seriously reducing my carbohydrate intake (not quite a keto diet, more like keto-lite), I lost 30 lbs. With zero reduction in caloric intake.

Did you count calories before you switched diets? It's easy to eat a lot of calories in unsatisfying carbohydrates.
 

This implements only one special case of money's function (where all time is of equal value). It's less functional than the existing process, so I don't think anything has been gained.

This sounds awful and tangential to the point of the course. My wife had to do some of this sort of thing in her college experience. What if your learning experience was this was a big waste of time? Yeah, students are not going to write that.

Movie theaters are relics of an obsolete technology. 50 years from now, it's going to seem weird that we had whole buildings dedicated to watching video together.

Shows that last about 2 hours and cost several tens of millions to make are constraints of that movie building, which now just don't apply. You still can make content in that format, but it's not required.

I think this is for the same reason the SEC doesn't regulate roulette in casinos.
