C'mon, man.
VB was terrible. Delphi was the godsend for Windows desktop development. Far better language, far better IDE, far better performance. True whether comparing it against VB or VC++. It's despicable what MS did to Borland via predatory monopolist actions and strategic poaching.
Have some balls like Google's AI research division and just fire this person now before the cancer spreads.
Pronouns in bio? Naturally.
Yeah, and all the idiots are excited about MS cleaning house, but what they want cleaned (and what MS will do) is squash the last remaining boy's club culture, the remnant of the culture that cared about games being fun. The culture of soulless, money grubbing executives? Nah, that stays. Get rid of Kotick, who cares, MS will find someone worse.
(With whatever culture changes this may require.)
Found the real motivation.
I don't think physical proximity to DC is a concern, but it is likely that taking advantage of these distributed hubs of tech expertise comes with the additional benefit of gaining the ear of more senators and representatives than if they restrict themselves to one enclave of CA.
Who are they? A collection of back-stabbing, amoral ladder climbers, mindless slogan-regurgitating wokesters, and operatives of ruthless corporations in no-holds-barred asymmetric warfare against user-focused Free Software in favor of business-friendly Open Source.
May not agree 100% with him, but he's an invaluable voice for Free Software, and the purge against him was utterly unethical--a mob of backstabbing climbers and their narcissistic cry-bully enablers. I'm waiting a month or so to make sure the FSF doesn't cave again, then joining at the $1000 level.
So one corporate entity will be the authority over all services and transactions in its domain. Certainly a use case for the overhead of distributed trust if I've ever heard one!
But I guess when regular blockchain fever dreams aren't retarded enough, why not up the ante with Randian nightmare dystopia?
Quantity is no substitute for quality, but its the only one we've got.
