Many readers wrote in to make sure we know that Microsoft execs have signed off on the code and Windows Vista has been and released to manufacturing. I saw the news piece in a headline on CNN.com. It read "Vista is done." I was sorely disappointed when I read that "done" meant finished rather than "done for," "kaput," or "ain't gonna happen."

Well, it was a pleasant dream while it lasted...
