Journal tompaulco's Journal: !@#&^$&*!@^$ ObamaCARE!!! 8

Holy mother of GOD!! Why did my insurance premium go up by a multiple of 3.5 in only one month? I have private major medical insurance and it has already jumped up by over 300% in the previous two years, but now it has gone up another 450% for a total change of over 800%. That's right, my premium is 9 times what it was just 3 years ago. I have had no major claims. And, of course, it being major medical, they didn't pay a dime out of pocket. I paid it all. I didn't get anywhere near the deductible. Yet my premium has skyrocketed. Coincidentally, this is right after Obamacare is enacted. i wonder if there is any correlation? What do all of those Pro Obama people think now? I hope they can afford to pay for me to go to the emergency room on their dime because I am dropping insurance and paying the fine. I can't afford to pay the Obamacare Premium.
My premiums alone on this plan are 1.5 times the maximum outlay for premiums and deductible that Obama says we would ever possibly have to say. If I include the deductible, it will be over 300% of the maximum out-of-pocket that Obama says I would ever have to pay.

  • You talk about your current plan "which pays nothing anyway" as if you want to keep it. Why would you? What did you find on the exchange? You curse Obamacare, yet seem to have not even remotely tried Obamacare yet.

Let us know what you find.

    • The whole point of insurance is "it pays nothing" until you hit a big threshold. That is what my insurance did. Now, it still claims to be a major medical plan, but they have added in some BS about copays and stuff. What is that about? It is Major Medical. it is supposed to adjudicate the claim, and I pay the negotiated amount in it's entirety. Now, they are talking about paying part of doctor's visits and stuff, which some people might see as a good thing, but I see it as a very bad thing. It drives up the
    • OK, I tried. I have spent three hours trying to get my wife and kids signed up for ObamaCare. I have had to fill out the application twice, because although i saved the information, when I came back to it later, it had to be filled out again. Oh, and some of the questions changed in the intervening 8 hours. Also, they are unable to verify my identity. The website asked me to call Experian, which I did, and they told me to just go back and try putting in different information. Why would I want to put in diff
      • I have now re-entered the information on the application 4 times. Every time I go in to try to verify my identity, I first have to go through 30 minutes of re-entering the same information again. Then it takes me to a screen saying that it is waiting for Verification of Identity. I received an e-mail saying that they needed a driver's license photo uploaded. I see nowhere to upload, and I can't get back to whatever upload documentation link that was available this morning. I have now spent at least 6 hours
        • Oh, here's a neat feature. If you delete the application that you have tried to complete 4 times over a period of 6 hours, THEN it will ask you to upload documents and verify your identity. Of course, then you will have to re-enter all of your information for a fifth time. Also, when you try to upload the .tif file you created, it tells you that it can only upload .bmp, .jpg, .tiff, .pdf etc, not .tif. What a complete pile of trash. It is no better than the legislation that mandates it.
          • Yeah, after entering all the data into my application 6 complete times and verifying most of the data another time, and a total of over 7 hours, I was finally able to sign up for the cheapest possible ObamaCare plan, which is a 50% higher premium than the policy I had before. So now, I guess I just need to go to my boss and explain that I need a 50% raise in order to pay for the increased costs of insurance caused by Obama. Of course, I did not qualify for any discounts, not even the tax credit for premium
  • I tried. Even though my injuries are covered by the VA system, my quotes were more than my monthly disability check from Uncle Sam. He gives, he taketh 110% away...

  • Imagine what would happen to your homeowner's policy if the political Left declared it "subpar" or a "crap" plan and they used government to require your insurer to add riders for furs and camera studio equipment and other junk you don't even need insurance on. And imagine the home insurers knew that it was only a temporary measure designed to drive the private sector out of that line of business so that a full-fledged government run system could be foisted on the people. (Where the Left will then say gee

With your bare hands?!?
