Journal SeanAhern's Journal: Buy a 3D Graphics Development Team on eBay 6

I just submitted the following story to Slashdot. In case it's rejected, I've copied it here.

Has your job been offshored? What're you doing about it? Well, these guys did something rather unusual. They offered their 3D design experience on eBay. 3 days left to get your very own 3D Graphics Development Team! They claim that 'The product of our work has touched the lives of every person who has ever enjoyed a movie, played a computer game, or watched television.' (Disclaimer: I don't even know these guys.)

Update: Man...that was fast. Rejected in under 5 minutes.

  • You know how that works. :)

(Ooh, I just hit a slashdot lameness filter! Check it out:

Slashdot requires you to wait 20 seconds between hitting 'reply' and submitting a comment.

It's been 19 seconds since you hit 'reply'!

Chances are, you're behind a firewall or proxy, or clicked the Back button to accidentally reuse a form. Please try again. If the problem persists, and all other options have been tried, contact the site administrator.

No, I just type fast, dumbfsck!)

Yeah, but I get tired of playing their game. I've had slashdot stories rejected so many times now, that it hasta be a really good article for me to risk rejection again. And each rejection raises the bar. Having one get shot down almost seconds after after I submit it pretty much takes the cake. I'm close to giving up completely.
    • As an ex-3D graphics guy, I loved the story Sean, so thanks for posting it in your journal!

Re:Ah, just wait an hour and submit it again.

Or try waiting 8 hours and resubmit. Then hope you're getting a different editor reading the queue. I think the editors alternate with 8 hour shifts, or at least they did a couple years ago when I went to a talk that a couple of them gave.

Or you could post them in my journal which is dedicated as a home for lost stories. I haven't figured out how to get more traffic

They offered their 3D design experience on eBay.

Actually, they are selling the ability to negotiate a cointract with them...

    Neat idea though.

One small step for man, one giant stumble for mankind.

Working...
