That said, I think I'm now more than 3 years without having been issued a single mod point. Last time I had them I was given 5; a few times even before then I was given 10. I have heard of people claiming to have been given 15 at a crack but not once did I see it myself.

I get 15 at a time several times a year.
Most of the threads where I know enough about the topic under discussion to issue insightful or informative mods are threads where I'm likely to comment, and most of the other times I would assign an interesting or insightful or informative are times when I don't have points, so most of the time most of my mods are for "Funny", so I guess I don't get meta-modded too often and that's why I keep getting mod points.

I did not know that anyone was using the meta-moderation system at all any more. I figured after they broke it so severely years ago as to make it completely irrelevant that nobody was using it. I mentioned several times to slashdot that the meta moderation system was broken (in particular it would most often ask for meta moderation on unmoderated comments, and on top of that it would also often allow people to metamod their own comments which is also bullshit) and yet they never did anything about it.

Last year after having no points for a couple of years I started getting 15 every single day for about a month or so. Not a single one since.
