B) Add another day, and make Weekly Recap(tm) a semi-weekly.

C) Leave it alone -- it's great the way it is.

Weekly Recap(tm) POLL: Should I

Comments Filter:
  • I'd have to vote for A, but I didn't bother to read the other options due to my short attention span.

    "What the hell is ADD?"

  • I like option C. Really, being chosen should be a special honor... and well I have a hard enough time dealing with change. :)

    • I agree!

And you split them up into a bunch of 'mini-recaps' as in one or two people per 3 lines, with 2 BRs between them, so its not like reading a book, its more like reading a page of one-liners.
      • Yep. I look forward to it all week, but it's like everything else, if you do it all the time, it becomes status quo, and not as exciting.
  • I wish you had a really big audience, and then you could post an item saying "NaveWeiss is looking for a girlfriend" and there was a chance that a girl from my region would notice it.
  • You don't want to become like Bloopers and Practical Jokes. Back in the late 70s/early 80s, it was really funny when they did their special once a year. Then it became a very lame weekly show.

Don't dilute your brand and burn yourself out. Some of us just have to grow up and deal with the fact that we're not worth your time.

    ....oo, shiney.

Hm? What? Oh. Yeah. A. Or C. Just don't get rid... of i-......

    HEY LOOK AT THAT BIKE!
  • This week's recap was a bit long for me, so I'm gonna vote for making it a bi-weekly...
  • More people will read two shorter entries than one long one.
  • Although I would really like to be mentioned in the recap, I'll live not being mentioned so long as there are interesting JEs to mention in my absence. It'll give me more incentive to make my JEs interesting, rather than filling them with "my life is boring, blah blah blah blah, poop, blah blah blah."
    • OR the alternate approach to getting attention, talking about topics that will get peoples attention...

"Life is cool (sex) and here is (sex) what I have been doing lately. And then (sex) a friend of mine stopped by today and we went out (sex) for some chinese (sex) food. Tomorrow I am going shopping for (sex) a car..."

  • Sounds good to me.

Of course, do what you feel comfortable doing bro.

    I read pretty quickly.

Of course I'm an excellent skimmer. An excellent skimmer.
  • Anything else doesn't have the same ring. Crap, I really shouldn't be on /. now, I should be rehearsing. Damn the internet and it's time-sucking ways!!

Ok, I need to get back to my script now, but I wanted to make my voice heard for C. Look, it's even in bold! ^_~

Keep it a little shorter than this week's, but once a week is good.

  • Any more often, then I wouldn't look forward to it as much each week.
  • I d-d-d-don't care what you do with it, just d-d-d-don't stop!!!

    :-)

    ....Bethanie....
    • What is with the chattering teeth? Did you just get soaked with ice water or something?

      robi
      just going to leave the
      comment at that
    • Honey, they call me the Energizer Bunny...I just keep going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going.... ;-)
  • I think that it's your recap. I don't know whether it should be more often or what, but here's what i think, in a nutshell (an oddly appropriate bin for my thoughts):

Nothing should go in except for things that you feel are noteworthy. Nothing. As much as i love being mentioned in your recap, unless i've done something that caught your eye (/me promptly breaking into my one-person rendition of 'Alice in Wonderland,' complete with white rabbit and flamingo-hedgehog croquet, tune in next week for ,i>thr

    • Oh, and by the way. My evil twin says you left your carkeys at the scene of the good twin river-toss.

Oh? Really? First off, tell your evil twin that I don't drive a car, I drive a truck. Secondly, and most importantly, if they were *my* keys, then she'd know for what brand of vehicle they were. Does she know that? Huh?

  • Heck . .it is your time. I view a weekly Recap like progressing to the next grade in school. The bar should not be so low that everyone gets to move on (get in the recap) and it shouldn't be number limited.

If you think it is interesting or think others may find it interesting, then go for it.

Let the recap-attention-grabbing masses yearn for recap space. It should be an unexpected bonus for interesting JEs.

Now that I have pissed off the recap-attention-grabbing masses...

  • A, B, and C

Take another group of people, and write about them on a different day. This way, the articles stay the same length, the content is the same, each individual journal writer gets mentioned once a week, but we see Surak's writeup twice a week.
  • I don't really have anything to add here...
  • I don't want you to burn out, so more is definitely out.

Longer is no good either. You either makes it to the list or you don't; them's the breaks.

Reason: You can type more than that for your subject.

  • Dedicate a section in your weekly recap to me!
