Is Omicron really just a consent-free vaccine?

  • If you get a vaccine and boosters (and as a result do not contract CoVid), you do not allow the virus an opportunity to use you as a breeding ground for another variant. I know that community sounds an awful lot like commie to some folks, but for F sake there is such a thing as social responsibility.
    • you do not allow the virus an opportunity to use you as a breeding ground for another variant

I got the jabs and boosters, sure, but I'm not placing that level of faith in any of this, sorry.

      • I have the jab and the boosters too. So do several of my friends. Many who have been vaccinated, about two in 10, are getting omicron anyway.

But that has nothing to do with the idea that *omicron itself* looks like a standard weakened virus vaccine, albeit an airborne one.

        • The vax is for reducing the symptoms, not preventing the disease.

          • That's what they say NOW THAT IT FAILED TO PREVENT THE DISEASE. A year ago the message was "Get the jab get back to your life".

            • No, I always understood it as a treatment to minimize the symptoms so people can't call in sick, not prevention of catching the disease. The stuff is only good enough to keep the viral load beneath a certain threshold.. Ongoing treatment is always more profitable than a cure

              • It wasn't sold as a prevention of transmission in your area? Sure bloody well was in Oregon. For nearly a year "Get the jab, prevent the virus, get a lottery ticket!" was the messaging.

I think you either weren't paying attention, or have a revisionist memory.

                • It wasn't sold as a prevention of transmission in your area?

It may have been, but you're right, I ignored that because I didn't believe the usual mass media bullshit. From the very beginning I took it as a thing to minimize symptoms, which is all it does, it reduces the viral load so our own immune system can handle it.. It's like the mask thing, I wear it to protect the other people nearby, not myself, most everybody else believes the reverse. It's not complicated.

                  • So in other words, the messaging that it would only reduce viral load and not eliminate transmission, is a message that was only within your own brain.

And you never believed the other lies of "Two weeks to flatten the curve" (I actually bothered to do the math on that and believed the virologists, but I expected that their two weeks was bullshit and that flattening the curve would mean that we'd have the same amount of death as predicted, 20 million dead in the United States, but that it would take until No

                    • So in other words, the messaging that it would only reduce viral load and not eliminate transmission, is a message that was only within your own brain.

Nope, that's just what you want to think. The argument is in your brain. I saw the evidence and noted other people saying the same thing. And no virologist ever said it would prevent you from getting the disease. That is what the politicians said

                    • You do realize that with that evidence, people would have widely rejected the vaccine, right?

                    • That would be their issue. I would still prefer reduced symptoms., but as far as I know, they just put saline solution. All credibility has been lost to money and politics.

                  • Oh, and I've always considered "wear a mask to protect other people" to be total bullshit. Which is why I won't wear anything less than a Hepa 16 filter. Cloth masks are worse than worthless, and no mask can protect somebody else.

                    • Oh, and I've always considered "wear a mask to protect other people" to be total bullshit.

So you wouldn't mind is the surgeons don't wear masks in the operating room? The masks are to control what you exhale, not what you inhale, for that you would need a pressured mask or a full space suit.

                    • "So you wouldn't mind is the surgeons don't wear masks in the operating room?"

After doing a test involving a laser pointer and a tea kettle, I see these paper disposable surgical masks as being worse than worthless. They soak through and steam escapes through them quite easily.

I want my surgeon in a Hepa-16 gas mask.

                    • I want my surgeon in a Hepa-16 gas mask.

Humans aren't safe, best to wait for robot surgeons, and hope they don't nick your intestines

    • And that comment has NOTHING to do with the conspiracy theory that omicron looks a lot like a bog-standard weakened virus vaccine.

In other words, anybody unvaccinated *will be vaccinated by omicron*. It is no longer a choice.
