Glacier melting, the science is settled

  • It gives you more time to spend on a vacation!

    Al Gore is a politician. I don't get my science from politicians. Especially one who wanted to fund trips to Mars to see the canals. The man is a putz.

  • Descends in the atmosphere. Hot air rises.

  • Clearly then, since the glaciers are only slowly melting instead of rapidly melting, that means that they're not really melting at all, that they're getting larger, and that global warming is a sham. That's because when there's even the slightest ethical or scientific lapse on the part of those suggesting global warming, then the entire concept is clearly wrong. However when those who stand to lose money, no not lose money, lose the easy ability to continue making money the same way they did last week/mon

    • As your peer, I have reviewed your statements, and I find them to be sound, and based on SCIENCE.

      However, let us never fall into the trap that science is settled, or that even peer review establishes truth about the future of complex uncontrollable systems, which I have found notably hard to predict.

      But the smart money makes safe long term bets. Who could argue against a sustainable supply of energy? And by that, I mean one that neither directly or indirectly heats the atmosphere to untenable levels.

        Ever read "Cycle of Fire" by Hal Clement? Decent enough fiction, clearly from an earlier era. However the ending is stunning, based on "science" and on an ignorant savage who comes to a far better understanding of what the word really means than most modern, technological, "civilized" people in the world today. As I said, the plot is from a bygone era, but the lesson is timeless.
