  • Served with this guy over in the 'Stan: https://www.facebook.com/lourie.formby [facebook.com]
Given the content of this bill and the nature of the dude in question, I've got to commit to a definite maybe.
    Good times.
    • Exempting church buses from the definition means that mandatory safety inspections don't apply. That alone is scary. Fortunately, if they cross the border and our cops stop them, the vehicle will be confiscated. We have enough Sunday night news with pics of "yet another outing that turned tragic" just from people driving mini-vans. This will increase the death toll per incident - not a good idea.
      • In Mississippi they want to put you in the fast lane to heaven. I don't know if other states have to let them in, but they might, which makes their desire to be raptured in a fiery death a national problem, and an example of the need for national standards when the locals fall down on the job

        • Send them up here. When they show up at the border and hand over their driver's license while driving a vehicle that seats 10 or more people, they are not going to get far. If they somehow get through (a properly licensed driver drives it across) and someone without the specific endorsement for buses is caught at the wheel, the vehicle will be seized on the spot and towed to the impound for up to 90 days. Problem solved.
          • Are you crazy? If you get that close to the top edge of the map, you risk falling off the paper.
          • Send them up here.

I would love to, but there are too many railroad crossings with those damn oil trains on them along the way. Can you come down and preemptively ticket them? Mississippi could use a little 'liberation'.

            • I would love to. It's -18 with a wind chill of -30. I'm sure we can drum up a million half-frozen Kanucks who are sick and tired of winter.
    • The poor guy! Looks like he cracked. I hope you write better law than he does when you win.

      • Win what? If I'm running for anything, it's the exit.
        • Leaving the country are you? Eh, maybe Uganda [wikipedia.org] is more your style. Take RG with ya. He could find some fast work.

          • Were I to entertain emigration thoughts, I'll venture I'd opt for New Zealand.
            • All the best... Hope there's some space left after all the people you've propping up [theguardian.com] under the banner of 'god and country' bought everything.

              • That was pure hypothetical. I ain't leavin'.
                • Good, then you got my vote. Maybe we'll have to conscript you if you fail to volunteer. That's something I believe in anyway, because I automatically disqualify anyone that actually wants the job. That is the first hint of corruption right there. They are, or will be in somebody's pocket if they really think they will have any influence. So, get ready.

                  • You want the Full Sherman?
                    • Gotta turn congress into jury duty. Make them serve. If you want quality in government, conscription is the only way. Then draw their names out the hat, because nobody will vote for a qualified candidate either. You yourself, d_r, RG, etc are all proof of that, doing nothing more than trying to be on the winning side. I just want to put you in so you can see just how filthy and perverted (sexually and otherwise) the business is and what it does to people. I want to see if you can resist the taste of power/w

                    • doing nothing more than trying to be on the winning side

How myopic is that? I'm actually far more concerned about (a) individual development along the maturity curve and (b) wisdom transfer to the next generation.
Since you've rejected the concept of the Gospel, you may not grasp the point of Matthew 4:8.

                    • Ahhhh, the maturity thing again. Very funny.

                      Matthew 4:8

That's exactly what I said. You need to be taken to the Hill to see all its splendor.

Sorry, since you don't believe anything outside Rush Limbaugh's echo chamber, you gotta run if you are really interested in seeing how it works, and in discovering for yourself (doesn't matter to me, as far as I know I'm talking with Eliza) how much strength of character you really have when seriously tempted.

                    • since you don't believe anything outside Rush Limbaugh's echo chamber

                      Not even a listener.

                    • There are many similar ones. I use him as the generic. That is the stuff you repeat here, so you're right, I have no idea of your real self. And really I feel the same about Rush, etc. They are paid to perform, and you live to conform.
