Journal SPAM: CIA and FBI computers used to edit Wikipedia 3
CIA and FBI computers are identified as sources for edited entries on Wikipedia topics, including the Iraq war and the Guantanamo prison, according to WikiScanner - a program developed by Virgil Griffith of the Santa Fe Institute. The program is the same one that identified computers at Fox News having edited Wikipedia entries on journalists and stories from other networks. This latest incident raises the real spectre of secret domestic censorship and state disinformation campaigns.
The changes may violate Wikipedia's conflict-of-interest guidelines, a spokeswoman for the site said on Thursday.

From now on, we can expect the USian agencies to work like the Brits and Israelis - via outside astroturfers, and use of anonymising proxies.
