  • If that is the case, they should have grabbed a US ship instead. At least in the UK, they'll actually talk this one through a little before going in guns blazing, and even then, they'll try the black-bag SAS job first.
    • Downing street and Whitehall keep talking about their "proof".

If they had weeks to manufacture it, I'm sure it's nearly as good as the Downing Street memos.

The reason to use the Brits for this is that the public there doesn't support war with Iran, and a good "hostage crisis" will heat 'em up, lik ethe US in '79. Netanyahu's boys didn't miss abeat in cooking this one up.
      • Let's just have a global thermonuclear war and get it over with. The sooner we finish up with the fighting the sooner we can go back to addressing real problems--like the growing discrepency in wealth distribution, the boom in mortgage foreclosures, and why perfectly qualified scientists are allowed to sleep on park benches.

I am not well suited for either the right or the left politically, but Scots tend to hold a honourable view of Conservatism that in America would be termed "PaleoCon", which I appreciate, because even if I disagree with them, at least it is justified with their stated ideals, and they lean very heavily on concepts of individual liberty

  • Found this entry on Craig Murray's blog. For those who do not know, Craig Murray is former UK Ambassador to Uzbekistan who stood his ground and spoke of the hypocrisy within the US/UK alliance with the butcher of Andijon, Islam Karimov, and was removed from Her Majesty's Foreign Service because of this.

The British Government has published a map showing the coordinates of the incident, well within an Iran/Iraq maritime border. The mainstream media a

    • Which again, leads me to see this as a setup to sway British opinion, prior to commiting to hostilities.

Murray is on my regular read list.
