        Did you know that "Nee" in dutch means "No". So, your nick always reads to me as "No No 3"... Kind of like "A big no-no".

          I didn't realize that "nee" in Dutch meant "no." Nee is actually the last part of my name - Renee. So, some of my friends jokingly call me "neenee."

    • I'm kinda stunned you haven't picked me out. It is the third photo contest and you (and I) were in the previous three.
      • I have a very very bad memory for faces. Which kinda sucks as a teacher, I can assure you. See, there are many *familiar* faces in there, which I know I have seen, but I just can't stick a nick on them.

        I also never stored the pics of previous photocontests for easy comparision. Dumb, and every year I tell to myself that I'll do it... but I never do. This doubled with lack of time for research (as I had in the last two contests) doesn't help much with my guessing. My best guess is #9... but really...

    • The ASCII/hex comment gave it to me immediately, then I went and found the rest of the clues for fun (kinda like a "Where's Waldo" game).

      In the same vein:

      * My favourite colour is grey
      * "Beer" is close to me, too
      * I have two choices of hairstyle: bald or "too lazy to shave my head recently so I have a little fuzz". I currently opted for #2.
      * My girlfriend hides behind me in pictures.
      * I don't have kids, but I am waiting in line to play a kid's game at my compny picnic while wearing
      • For some reason, I thought that people were only going to read the capitalized hint. Glad you liked the ASCII hint, but that came naturally to me... After all, everyone knows space in hex. (At least on slashdot they should... back in the day we knew ASCII by heart... yay! /ME oldskool geek)

          However, I didn't quite understand your clue at first, and I was thinking 32 doesn't fit your clues at all... I had autoconverted back to decimal.
        • Ohhh.. tricky! base 14... Wait, a second: C with a = through it? That's called the Euro () and is kinda an important currency these days. I only wasn't aware that it was in the original ASCII table. (Exactly because it isn't)

          Ahh, but in my Microsoft Ascii Table for Excel (use the help in the VBA editor) it does exist :)

          And yes, that's the symbol it gives me. (the Euro)

            I don't have a PC handy. I'm on my iBook. The real ASCII table doesn't have an euro sign, whatever Microsoft may say. I'm sorry, but they are *wrong*.

      Sadly most don't understand why you want to use the 'loud' 'non-ergonomic' keyboard.

      Give me real mechanical keyswitches any day over sucky membrane keyboards.

        • Bah.... it's not as if most motherboards don't come with a PS/2 connector. Besides, I'm sure you can get a convertor for that.

          Keyboards these days suck. You get flimsy plastic a ton of keys that nobody uses, the stupid Fx key that disables the real function keys. They are toys.

          My personal opinion is that I should be able to kill someone by hitting my keyboard on his head. With modern keyboards you just can't do that.

          • Yeah - even the post-IBM Model M's I've seen don't have a metal base-plate, anymore...
            • Sure... I have one of those. ;-) It's still sturdy: you just need to hit harder. Blood stains easily go off too :-D

              My model M's all have the metal baseplate.

              At least someone cares enough to still make buckling spring keyboards.

              Not that it is hard to find the real thing. IBM made millions of Model M keyboards and many pre-1999 Dell keyboards are Model M's with a Dell logo.

              There are also some other mechanical keyswitch keyboards out there. While Alps or Cherry keyswitches aren't quite as nice as the buckling spring they are much better than any of the membrane crap out there. (though f

          Apparently there are a number of Mac users who like to use Model M keyboards instead of Apple or whatever.

      There are actually a number of additional pictures, but they aren't matched with my name. I can be seen in the background of any number of pictures of Hacker Jeopardy at Defcon. However, the subject of the pictures is the strippers, so they're not labelled "Ryan Russell... oh yeah, and some boobies."

    It's late, I filled in the last few blanks randomly and... I have too many names left over. Maybe I just forgot the cross some out or maybe I have dupes.

    Anyway, there are a large number that I'm pretty confident about. There were actually alot of clues available and I think that, given a day or two to work on it (with nothing else to do), one could probably score about 95%. Anyway, here are my guesses
