Agree. This is a backdoor for the feds to control speech. The law is poorly written, overall broad, and affects basically any "websites". This ban can be achieved simply via trade regulation. By demanding comity, you can ban TikTok for China's lack of reciprocity (ie they ban Facebook, Twitter, etc. in China). Let ours in, or we will ban yours here like you ban ours there. ”Probably more than the carrying capacity of the continent, nevertheless. There's a lot of desert in the outback.” Um no. 25MM. To put that in context, Manhattan has 20m people on the island during work days (8m residents). So. No. 25MM is not it. But good to see you got “insightful” for being utterly and completely wrong. But that’s slashdot today. A commie leftist virtue signaling circle jerk handing out points to the next link.

All of Europe is busy sucking on Vlad's pipeline. SWIFT is how they pay. They care more about their comfort than the lives of Ukrainians. Why are they sucking on Vlad's pipeline so intently? Because they didn't listen to trump and instead listened to idiots AOC/Greta and dumped nuclear for virtue signaling. In the mean time, they live on Russian oil/gas. So they can call all day, all night, forever, they won't do it while the pipeline is pouring their comfort all over them. Now if Ukraine blows the pipelines and the spigot stops, then, they might do it because it will make no difference to them. But while their comfort is still an option, SWIFT going away, isnt.
