Use some common courtesy...yes, I know it's hard to do nowadays, folks. That's part of why I have a problem with small towns (or, to be more precise, those who reside in them). The human brain cannot fully reconcile the value of another species'/ecosystem's/etc's existence and rights when you run over them a million of them a day (in your SUV/truck/even midsize car, that you take to drive everywhere because you have no transit and need a huge house in the middle of nowhere). They just become like ants... some of them are... it doesn't matter if you step on someone or something... there's a billion more just like them, and enough resources for all of us to live exactly how we demand. Do yourself a favor and move to a bigger city...

('courtesy' is in the eye of the beholder, and that beholder's value system)
